Week 4 : Project 2
We are given on another assignment on designing a bus stop in 3D form. The actual size of the bus stand is fixed as what had been given by our lecturer, Mr. Zulkiffli. We are also being teached on how to built a mini bus stop by cutting, pasting and combining all the card boards together under his guidance. At the very beginning, we are required to choose on a local brand where we need to design the templates out and make it as one of the theme for our bus stop.
According to Wikipedia, a bus stop is a designated place where buses stop for passengers to board or leave a bus. These are normally positioned on the highway and are distinct from off-highway facilities such as bus stations. The construction of bus stops tends to reflect the level of usage. Stops at busy locations may have shelters, seating and possibly electronic passenger information systems; less busy stops may use a simple pole and flag to mark the location and 'customary stops' have no specific infrastructure being known by their description. Bus stops may be clustered together into transport hubs allowing interchange between routes from nearby stops and with other public transport modes.
Therefore, bus stop can function well as a place where advertisement took place. Since it is a place to wait for buses, people can spent their time by looking on those advertisements which have been paste on the bus stop’s wall instead. In my opinion, by promoting a brand through the usage of a bus stop is an effective way indeed.
